Cooker
Application (Download)
The Chamber annually presents Hillsborough’s Hog Day and invites
pig cookers from across the state to try to win first prize
for their pig and sauce. Jeff Woods and Harold Wagner will
be kicking off the cooking event on Friday evening. They graciously
give their time to make this one of the best BBQ events in
the South! Come join Jeff and Harold (also known as "Bubba"
and "Earl") as they call the cookers to gather and
watch them deliver meat that will eventually become nearly
4,000 pounds of the best BBQ your mouth has ever tasted! Have
a good time as you spend the night swapping stories and cooking
pig. This year marks the Fifth
Ever Friday Night Ribs with Bubba and Earl. Participants
in this contest should bring 1 or 2 racks of ribs prepared
with their own rub, sauce, whatever - and your skills will
be judged around 11:00.
And on Saturday - Join us
for the Second Annual Hog
Day Invitational
- The top finishers from 2009 and 2010 will be competing for
PEOPLE’S
CHOICE. The pork prepared by these cooks will be served
individually to the public, which will then vote for their
favorite. The winner receives a cash prize, a trophy and their
name on a plaque to remain in the Chamber Office. Each invited
cook will still compete in the overall competition for first
through fifth place. Top finishers from 2009, 2010, and 2011
will compete in 2012. Winners will be announced at 2:00 pm
